Pinball

For Sue the interest in pinball began many years ago during holidays in Italy with her Mum and Dad when she was younger. For G it was the college years when way too much time was spent playing Haunted House, Kiss and Black Hole.

The interest lay dormant for many years (We're not saying how long) until we decided to buy one. ..and boy have they changed since we started playing all those years ago.

After many weeks of deliberation Williams Star Trek : Next Generation was the first to be bought. This was bought from a restorer after it had all been cleaned up and the broken parts replaced. The next followed about 18 months later, Whitewater another Williams table. This we decided to take on a challenge and buy one in need of some work. In reality we got a pretty solid unit which only needed cleaning - it had been in a pub, and some bits replacing to get it working. We then continued its restoration and did a complete rubbers replacement and decided to find better plastics like mountains. These where located on eBay. The work finished with reinstallation of one of the rubbers and crystal posts that had disappeared completely.

Many months past before the next purchase - and three arrived on the same day. Indiana Jones, Creature From the Black Lagoon and another Whitewater. The Whitewater was more for spares for the original than to play and was soon disassembled and filed into boxes. The first table to rescue was Creature with the playfield bracket and spirit level. Then on to Indiana Jones, which was pretty complete.

Then the challenge, Twilight Zone, it arrived in bits and boxes, so much so we dedicated a whole page to its restoration

Which one is the best - they are so different. STTNG has a complicated game with many missions to solve. WW is much more a just hit the ramps and keep repeating them. IJ has many modes to sort out and CBTBL although looking basic does have a complicated play strategy.

The sub pages include specifics on each of the machines. We have continued to work on them including doing some "modifications" which enhance the look of the game.

27Sep06 - Pinball number 7 has just been delivered - 9am this morning.  With our interest in Disney it is hardly surprising that our very first brand new machine is Prates of the Caribbean.  See more information in the Current Collection section.
